Allah says in the Quran:
“Do not stand [for prayer] within it - ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it, are men who love to purify themselves; and Allah loves those who purify themselves.” (9:108)
Allah is saying that he loves the one who is clean, therefore Allah must also love cleanliness from all aspects including clothes.
Wearing clothes is one of the distinguishing marks between humans and animals. They also help to maintain our body temperature because our skin is light and thin. People also wear clothes for protection from stuff in the environment such as harmful plants and harsh weather, they also wear clothes forhygienic reasons like covering their skin from dirt, sand and dust.
Even the prophet liked clothes that were beautiful which are clean. It is recorded that: "If one has an atom's weight of arrogant pride in him, he will not enter Paradise". On hearing the Prophet's words, a man said: I like to wear elegant clothes and shoes or he said one likes to wear elegant clothes and shoes.' The Prophet commented, "Allah is beautiful and he loves beauty, arrogant pride means the denial of the truth and despising people."
If you leave clothes that are to be worn the next day on the floor then you are getting them more dirty than they already were. This can cause you to get sick from the dead skin cells, dirt, and other things that are on the floor. If the clothing worn is not often washed, and frequently aired, it becomes filthy with impurities which are thrown off from the body by sensible and insensible perspiration. Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) states that, ‘The Messenger of Allah (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) came to visit us, and saw a man who was wearing dirty clothes. He (peace be upon him) said, "Could this person not find anything with which to wash his clothes”’. And if the clothes worn are not frequently cleaned from dirt, the pores of the skin absorb again the waste matter thrown off. The impurities of the body, if not allowed to escape, are taken back into the blood, and forced upon the internal organs. This then can lead to fevers and then possibly into harmful diseases. If you don’t follow the standards then you risk having many negative aspects that can cause more problems in the future.
